Have you ever seen the movie ‘Office Space’ before? How about the movie ‘Wanted’? Better yet, have you ever worked in “Corporate America”? The aforementioned movies poke fun at some of the harsh and stressful realities working in a "cubicle-world" tends to encompass. Don't get it twisted, working in a cubicle is no laughing matter. Working in a cubicle is definitely not for everyone; unfortunately, for one person, working in one for 11-years had to come to an abrupt ending.
51-year old compliance auditor of the Los Angeles County Department of Internal Services, Rebecca Wells; gave new meaning to the phrase “dead-end job”.
Rebecca Wells was found dead in a cubicle by a security guard Saturday, February 12, 2011; she was said to have died at some point the day before.
The reports by her co-workers stated that she seemed fine, no illnesses or anything abnormal while she was working on Friday, the day prior. To be exact, co-workers stated that they last had spoken and seen Rebecca at 5 p.m. on Friday evening. Several co-workers also stated she had even sent e-mails throughout the day; all was status quo; therefore, no signs that something may have been wrong. Apparently the security guard who found her body found her slumped over the desk she had been working at; however, the odd part of the story is she was not at her normal desk that day. The report states she was found in an area where empty cubicles were. Foul play is not suspected at this time, but it does raise my eyebrows just a tad.
Hopefully stress on the job was not a factor. However, I work in a cubicle environment; I have worked in sales for many years and I know first hand what stress at work is like. That said, I have never worked for the government – I have heard the horror stories though. Hopefully this was just a case of God needing another angel and not the demands of working in Corporate America claiming yet another victim.
Actual! Factual!
Stress is one of the leading causes of death in the work place due to the fact that it triggers many other “ailments” which consequently then leads to death.

This is crazy. How can she go a whole day without being noticed? I think you are right in raising your eyebrow. I don't buy this whole she just walked on over to a quieter part of the office to die. People don't do that. Well I hope she didn't let a job get the best of her.
