Many of you may be familiar with the topic and many of you may not be, but I am telling you right now BE PREPARED to hear a lot about this over the next few months. If there is one thing this country loves is its military. The question is, "how far is the country going to demean one group of individuals in order to make another group happy."
As an outsider looking in it was easy for me to say its not a big deal, but what are the military men and women themselves going to think about having to serve with gay and lesbian individuals. How are military personnel going to react to changing in front of a gay or lesbian individual? How will an infantry man deal with having to sleep "butt to balls" with a gay man?
These are the true questions people should be asking. How badly will this change affect our military, and is it wise to do something as huge as this in the middle of two potential wars? Are military personnel going to have the right to leave before their contract is up because serving with gays and lesbians is not something they agreed to when they signed their contract?
I really hope I am wrong on this one, but I encourage you all to stay close to the topic because it will get interesting.
