Unrecognizable Planet by 2050? What the Heck?
New story was released today talking about the growth of the human population and the effects it will have on the planet. To put it in in simple terms, people are not dying as fast as people being born, which is going to cause an inflation of people living on the planet. More people equal more mouths to feed (simple right).
I could drop all sorts of crazy facts on how much food is really needed, but what's the point of doing that? The real issue at hand or point is what are we going to do about conserving resources? A lot of people want to think that what happens in other places of the world doesn't affect them, but we all know that is completely false. We have countries in Asia whose population already outnumbers the population of the entire world.....so what do we do?
According to the article we are going to start seeing issues as soon as 2050 (39 years from now). Many experts are crying over receiving more money for family planning programs. I agree that is a start but definitely not a solution. Just because a family can afford to have 10 kids, does it mean that they should?
Here's an idea for the U.S. Government....How about granting tax breaks for people that don't have any kids? I know people now a days have kids just to get a tax cut, and the government rewards them for it at the end of the year. I wonder how many people would really consider cutting their kid wish list to 2 instead of 5 kids. HA!
